Create Dunwoody will present the inaugural World of Music, a free outdoor concert featuring the James Violin Studio Group and World Music USA, on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at High Street Green, 101 High St. in Dunwoody.
Set in the beautiful outdoor High Street Green and enhanced by a warm candlelight atmosphere, the collaborative performance will feature an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, rock and world music. The evening will bring together talented young musicians, professional performers and vocalists for a unique celebration of music, culture and community.
The James Violin Studio Group, led by Dunwoody native and accomplished violinist Alison James, brings together talented young musicians who showcase the versatility and excitement of the violin. James began her own musical journey in Dunwoody and has built a career as both a professional performer and violin instructor.
World Music USA, led by local composer and producer Jayanta Pathak, brings professional musicians and vocalists together for dynamic, cross-cultural performances. The nonprofit organization collaborates with artists from diverse backgrounds to create music that crosses genres and cultural traditions.
“World of Music gives us an opportunity to bring something new to Dunwoody while showcasing incredibly talented musicians in a beautiful outdoor setting,” said Rosemary Watts, executive director of Create Dunwoody. “The candlelight atmosphere will add to the experience and help create a memorable evening where people can come together to enjoy music and community at High Street.”
The concert is free and open to the community.
